The ESC31Z cartridge is the result of more than 40 years of research and development by Mitsubishi Cleansui. Its two filtration stages, non-woven mesh fabric and calcium sulfite, are layered together. Each stage has a different structure and function, and combined in the right ratio they make a cartridge optimized for both structure and filtration performance.

- Calcium sulfite quickly removes chlorine and chloramine from bath water.
- It does not dissolve in water, so it causes no additional harmful side effects to users.
- Calcium sulfite in the filter effectively removes 99% of chlorine, while common activated carbon filters remove only 75% to 90% of residual chlorine.
